Hello and welcome to Living the Low Salt Life food blog! My name is Melanie and I’m passionate about creating delicious, easy-to-make, affordable, low sodium meals. My journey into the world of low sodium cooking began in September 2020, when my husband was diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF). Faced with the challenge of helping him maintain a daily sodium intake of less than 2000mg, I embarked on a mission to reinvent our favorite dishes without compromising on flavor.

I will be sharing our culinary adventures and discoveries. Here, you will find a collection of tried-and-tested recipes, helpful tips, and resources to make low sodium cooking enjoyable and affordable. In the beginning of our Low Sodium journey I felt very overwhelmed and alone. My goal is to support others who are navigating similar dietary restrictions and to prove that a low sodium diet can not only be simple but both tasty and satisfying.
